In the spring of 2017, Hockey Alberta announced that - effective for the 2018-19 season - Parents and Coaches/Team Officials would be required to recertify their Respect in Sport every four seasons. The requirement to recertify comes into effect on May 1.
For the 2019-20 season, the requirement to recertify affects Parents and Coaches/Team Officials who completed their Respect in Sport certification prior to the 2016-17 season. You should have received an email from Hockey Canada and/or Hockey Alberta in May informing you that you need to recertify.

You MUST complete this prior to your child taking part in ANY ON-ICE activity - including evaluations. This is a MANDATORY PROGRAM!

Summary: All registrants must work ONE bingo, to a maximum of TWO bingos per family. If you want to "opt out" of working the bingo, please add $200.00 to your registration fee. The fee option of $200.00 to "opt out" of the bingo is only available at the time of registration. If you choose to "opt out" after the season has started the "opt-out fee after you register" will be $300.00.
Please include an undated, signed cheque in the amount of $300.00 for your bingo deposit. This cheque will be returned to you after your bingo has been worked. When your bingo requirement has been satisfied this cheque will be returned to you. If you no longer have cheques, we will require a credit card number together with the applicable expiry date, or a $300 cash deposit.

NOTE REGARDING COMMUNITY LEAGUES:
It is no longer mandatory to have a community league membership to play hockey in Edmonton. However, Hawks Athletic Club continues to support our community leagues and strongly encourage our members to purchase their community league memberships. To find out how you can purchase your community league membership please contact your community league or visit www.efcl.org.
The Hawks Athletic Club will NOT be giving out or selling any community league membership cards or skate tags.
