Will the Hawks Athletic Club be having any In-Person Registration Dates?

Due to COVID-19, the Club was unable to safely hold in-person registrations in late spring / early summer. Now that PPE is more readily available, we have been able to purchase plexiglass screens and therefore feel that, together with masks or face shields, anyone choosing to come register in person will feel safe.

Additionally, the following policies will be implemented for everyone's safety:

  • All those attending a Hawks In-Person Registration will be required to wear a face mask or face shield (not provided by the Hawks).
  • Only two people will be allowed into the office at the same time with only one member per family attending to the registration.
  • Children will not be allowed to accompany their parent into the office so provision for childcare for any children that must be left outside of the office must be considered. Childcare will not be provided by the Hawks Athletic Club.

The In-Person Registrations at the Hawks Athletic Club Office (11620 - 145 Street) will be held on the two upcoming Saturdays and on Tuesdays and Thursdays (beginning next week) for the month of September and the first couple weeks of October. The dates and times are as follows:

  • Saturday, September 5 - 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm

  • Tuesday, September 8 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 10 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

  • Saturday, September 12 - 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm

  • Tuesday, September 15 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 17 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

  • Tuesday, September 22 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, September 24 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

  • Tuesday, September 29 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, October 1 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

  • Tuesday, October 6 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, October 8 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

  • Tuesday, October 13 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, October 15 - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

As well as new registrations, our membership can attend to make payments, drop off documents, etc.

Registration for New and First-Time Players

All new players must provide the following documentation:

  • Completed Registration Form (Download 2020-2021 Registration Form here).

  • Copy of Birth Certificate (or Passport if Birth Certificate is unavailable).

  • Copy of Alberta Health Care Card.

  • The new ONLINE PARENT DECLARATION form must be completed and submitted to registrar@hawksathletics.ca.

This form can be found at https://www.hockeyalberta.ca/parent-declaration-form/ .

Please make sure you put my email - registrar@hawksathletics.ca - in the last box FORWARD SUBMISSION so that I receive it.

At the BOTTOM OF THE FORM you must upload a PROOF OF RESIDENCY. This must be a recent utility bill in the parents’ names and must be a power, water or gas bill. In other words, the bill must be from Direct Energy, Epcor or Enmax. No other bills or documents will be accepted (these include a driver’s license, cable or phone bill, or car insurance documents). If you’ve just moved into a new residence and haven’t received a utility bill as yet, a copy of your Bill of Sale will be accepted as Proof of Residency.

If you are unable to upload a Proof of Residency, please email it directly to the Hawks’ Registrar at registrar@hawksathletics.ca .

  • One parent must have a current Respect in Sport (RIS) Certificate. To complete the course, look up an existing Certificate Number or to redo the course (it expires after 4 years and must be redone), please go to the RIS site at: https://hockeyalbertaparent.respectgroupinc.com/

Information for Returning Players

Beginning this upcoming 2020-2021 season, the Hawks Athletic Club will no longer be processing credit card information manually by giving its members the option of “SCANNING and EMAILING the player’s registration form and credit card information”.

If you have the ability to pay by credit card, it is being mandated that online registration combined with the online credit card payment option be made using the Hockey Canada Registry System.

Payment Options

  1. Online Credit Card Payment (Visa or MasterCard) using the Hockey Canada Registry System

Online payment by credit card. You will have the option to pay as follows:

    • In full at the time of online registration;
    • By choosing the TWO Payment Plan (all categories) using online registration; or
    • By choosing the THREE Payment Plan (U9, U11 and U13 only) using online registration.
    • There will be a minimum payment for all players at the time of registration. U7 programs will be required to pay $50.00 and U9, U11 and U13 programs will be required to pay $100.00.
    • With the TWO Payment Plan, the second payment is due September 1, 2020.
    • With the THREE Payment Plan, the second payment is due September 1, 2020 and the third payment will be due on October 1, 2020.

  2. Payment by E-Transfer
    • Registration will be completed online and paid by E-Transfer. As Hockey Canada does not currently have E-Transfer as an option on their Online Registration System, please select Cheque as your payment method when you are paying by E-Transfer.
    • Please send an email to registrar@hawksathletics.ca for E-Transfer instructions.
    • Payment by E-Transfer should be made using the Minimum Deposit of $50.00 (for U7) and $100.00 (for U9, U11 and U13) at the time of registration and the balance paid September 1, 2020.
    • Note: The receipt will display a payment amount of $0.00 until your cheque or E-Transfer payment has been received and processed by the Hawks Athletic Club.

  3. Payment by Cheque
    • Cheques returned NSF (or otherwise) will result in a $50.00 NSF Fee.
    • Registration will be completed online with Cheque being chosen as the Payment Method.
    • Cheques MUST be submitted within 7 days of online registration. Please mail a cheque payable to “Hawks Athletic Club” to:
Hawks Athletic Club 12808 - 134A Avenue NW
      Edmonton, AB T5L 3W6
    • Payment by cheque can be made:
      1. In full dated immediately; OR
      2. 50% dated immediately and 50% dated September 1, 2020; OR
      3. 50% dated September 1, 2020 and 50% dated October 1, 2020.
    • If cheques are dated on dates other than those dates listed above we will make every effort to deposit them within two weeks of the date.

TO REGISTER ONLINE:

Payment by Personal Payment Plan Agreement

Not all members are able to pay by credit card or E-Transfer. In cases such as these, please contact the Hawks’ Registrar, Lorraine Toth, at registrar@hawksathletics.ca to enter into a Personal Payment Plan Agreement. The Personal Payment Plan Agreement will be structured to meet your personal financial needs with a deadline for final payment being December 1st, 2020.

In these cases only, registration will be done manually by the Registrar - the member cannot register online.

This option should not be confused with the standard Two Payment option and Three Payment option plans. The Personal Payment Plan Agreement is only for those that are paying by bank draft, money order or cash (i.e., unable to pay by credit card or E-Transfer).

What if I have bingo credits? How are they applied to my registration fees?

If you have earned bingo credits during the 2019-2020 season, you must register online using the Hockey Canada Registry System in order to redeem them as they have been attached to the player profile on HCR. The credits will appear onscreen and be applied very close to the end of your online payment transaction.
