HK504 Wins Gold at Minor Hockey Week 2026
Congratulations to all the members of HK504 on your Minor Hockey Week gold medal!
HK504 has had a few ups and downs this season as they navigate the year without a resident goalie – borrowing goalies from U11 for each game, practice and tournament.
SN505 opened the scoring late in the first period, with Daniel Marcel finding the back of the net at 13:01 off a setup from Emma McDonald to give SN505 an early 1–0 lead.
The second period saw momentum swing back and forth. SN505 doubled their lead at 7:14 when Tyler Knoblauch converted a pass from Chase Nixon. HK504 responded quickly, as Xander Glebe got them on the board at 6:15, assisted by Orley Ness. SN505 answered once more late in the period, with Jordan Poltaruk scoring at 1:07 from Tiger Rain and Randon Adams, sending SN505 into the break up 3–1.
HK504 came out flying in the third period and took control of the game. Drew Rowland cut the deficit at 9:28 with help from Salvatore Santoro and Fredrick Gordon. Just under two minutes later, Santoro struck again off a feed from Gordon to make it a one-goal game. The comeback continued at 5:39 as Xander Glebe buried his second of the game, assisted by Orley Ness and Mason Lofthaug, tying things up. HK504 capped off the rally in dramatic fashion when Jordan Jammaz scored at 0:26, with Orley Ness picking up the assist.
Shoutout to U11 goalies Jasper Stengel and Allister Erickson, for their hard work between the pipes for HK504 throughout the tournament, and to head coach Doug Glebe for coaching his team to a Minor Hockey Week Gold medal for the second year running.
